S. C RecA 2.0 is a recombinase, a homolog of the RecA/Rad51 family, which plays an important role in the error-free repair of dsDNA breaks and the restart of replication forks. S.C RecA 2.0 can form a nucleic acid-protein complex with ssDNA together with other DNA binding proteins or auxiliary factors.

S. C RecA 2.0 is a recombinase, a homolog of the RecA/Rad51 family, which plays an important role in the error-free repair of dsDNA breaks and the restart of replication forks. S.C RecA 2.0 can form a nucleic acid-protein complex with ssDNA together with other DNA binding proteins or auxiliary factors. The complex further completes the homologous recombination reaction by searching for and recognizing the complementary region of the target DNA. The enzyme has no nuclease activity.
